The raw data files associated with this study have also been submitted to the NCBI Sequence Read Archive under Bioproject number...

Data for herpetofaunal inventories of the national parks of South Florida and the Caribbean: Volume III, Big Cypress National Preserve

Brian M Jeffery, Kenneth G Rice, Marquette E Crockett, J. Hardin Waddle & H Franklin Percival
The Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) requires the use of ecological indicators to measure the success of restoration efforts. The Everglades amphibian community is ideal because amphibians are present in all habitats and under all hydrologic regimes. During Everglades restoration, hydrologic patterns will change and the response of ecological indicators will determine success. Fourteen amphibian species were detected through VES, vocalization surveys and trapping methods throughout the study and the occurrence information collected in this...

Xan Fredericks, Christine Kranenburg & David B. Nagle
This mosaic, prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center, provides lidar-derived submerged topography for a portion of the submerged environs of Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Elevation measurements were acquired by the second-generation Experimental Advanced Airborne Research Lidar (EAARL-B) on March 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, and 24, 2014, in cooperation with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Coral Reef Conservation Program.

Annual California Sea Otter Census - 2015 Spring Census Summary

M. Tim Tinker & Brian B Hatfield
The spring 2015 mainland sea otter count began on 2 May and wasn't completed until 2 July. The delay in finishing the census was due primarily to limited availability of the survey plane (because of the need for the plane during the oil spill in the Refugio State Beach area). Overall viewing conditions this year were more favorable than those during the 2014 spring census (View Score = 2.6 vs. 2.3, where 0=poor, 1=fair, 2=good,...

WKBT Soils and Floodplain Nutrients

Rebecca M Kreiling
We examined effects of flooding on supply rates of 14 nutrients in floodplain areas invaded by Phalaris arundinacea (reed canarygrass), areas restored to young successional forests (browsed by white-tailed deer and unbrowsed), and remnant mature forests in the Upper Mississippi River floodplain. Plant Root Simulator ion-exchange probes were deployed for four separate 28-day periods. The first deployment occurred during flooded conditions, while the three subsequent deployments were conducted during progressively drier periods. Time after flooding...

Oceanographic measurements for characterizing light attenuation and sediment resuspension in the Barnegat Bay- Little Egg Harbor estuary, New Jersey, 2013

P.K. Dickhudt
The U.S. Geological Survey measured suspended-sediment concentration, currents, waves, light attenuation, and a variety of other water quality parameters in the summer of 2013 in Barnegat Bay, New Jersey. Data were acquired sequentially at three channel and three shoal sites, moving the equipment from south to north in the estuary. Data were collected for approximately 3 weeks at each site.

Basin Characterization Model of the Great Basin: A Dataset of Historical and Future Hydrologic Response to Climate Change

Alan L. Flint Lorraine E. Flint
This data release for the Great Basin BCM includes a range of downscaled climate and hydrologic-response variables generated from an ensemble of climate projections within the context of the historical hydro-climatology. The Great Basin BCM was developed at a 270-m spatial resolution using methods previously developed and vetted in California (Flint and Flint, 2012; Flint and others, 2013; Thorne and others 2015). Climate inputs included historical data from 1951-2013 and an ensemble of 12 future...

Collection-1 Landsat OLI Level-2 Surface Reflectance (SR) Science Product

Landsat satellite data have been produced, archived, and distributed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) since 1972. Users rely on these data for historical study of land surface change, but shoulder the burden of post-production processing to create applications-ready data sets. In compliance with guidelines established through the Global Climate Observing System, USGS has embarked on production of higher-level Landsat data products to support land surface change studies. Terrestrial variables such as surface reflectance are...

Raw Ground Penetrating Radar Data, Eureka Glacier, Alaska; 2013

Daniel McGrath Salvatore G. Candela
Common-offset GPR surveys were conducted with a Sensors and Software 500-MHz Pulse Ekko Pro system. We collected data from the ground, towed behind a researcher on skis or snowmobile, and from the air, strapped underneath a helicopter. All of the profiles are linked to coincident GPS observations. Coincident in-situ data is provided for calibration, and may be composed of any of the following: snow pits and/or snow-pit/snow-core combinations, probe profiles, and ablation stakes. This supplemental...

Sarah L. Shafer & Patrick J. Bartlein
This data set consists of monthly mean temperature (degrees C), total precipitation (mm), and possible sunshine (%) data statistically downscaled onto a 30-second grid of the northwest United States and southwest Canada. Historical climate data for 1901-2000 were developed from the CRU CL 1.0, CRU CL 2.0, and CRU TS 2.1 data sets (http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/data/hrg/). Projected future climate data for 2001-2099 were developed using climate model simulations produced by five coupled atmosphere-ocean general circulation models: CCSM3,...

Harmonization of Forest Disturbance Datasets of the Conterminous United States from 1986-2011

Christopher E Soulard
A wide range of spatial forest disturbance datasets exist for the conterminous United States, yet inconsistencies between map products arise because of differing programmatic objectives and methodologies. Researchers harmonized maps from multiple data sources (i.e., Global Forest Change, Landfire Vegetation Disturbance, National Land Cover Database, Vegetation Change Tracker, Web-enabled Landsat Data, and Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity) using a pixel-based data fusion process. The harmonization process, which involves fitting common class ontologies and testing spatial...
