Linguistic skills, linguistic behaviour and ethno-cultural reproduction among the Hungarian population from TransylvaniaIstván Horváth
Based on the study “Turning Points of Our Lives – Transylvania” conducted in 2006, the paper analyzes the conditions under which ethno-cultural reproduction is accomplished among the Hungarians living in Transylvania. Although in the past decades demographic processes affecting the Hungarian community from Transylvania have constituted a major topic for sociological analyses, these works have primarily focused on census data, without taking socio-linguistic aspects into consideration. The present paper describes and analyzes the odds and...
This database contains information on the so far registered specimens in the Herpetology Collection of the Swedish Museum of Natural History. The database is managed with The Artedian collection management system in MS-Access. The main tables describe collecting events and collection objects which are related on a one to many relationships. The database is Darwin Core compatible but uses alternative table names and includes also loan routines, document management and other components of collection management....
This dataset includes radiant light energy measurements from a study by Columbia University's EnHANTs (Energy Harvesting Active Networked Tags) project.
To answer Alsmith’s questions about the existence of a vestibular sense, we outline in the first part of our reply why we believe the vestibular sense is a true “sixth sense”. We argue that vestibular information constitutes distinct sensory events and that absolute coding of body orientation and motion in the gravity-centered space is the important unique feature of the vestibular system. In the last part of our reply, we extend Alsmith’s experimental suggestions to...
This database, collected at the Children’s Hospital Boston, consists of EEG recordings from pediatric subjects with intractable seizures. Subjects were monitored for up to several days following withdrawal of anti-seizure medication in order to characterize their seizures and assess their candidacy for surgical intervention.

Replication Data for: Driver crash risk factors and prevalence evaluation using naturalistic driving dataThomas A. Dingus, Feng Guo, Suzie Lee, Jonathan F. Antin, Miguel A. Perez, Mindy Buchanan-King & Jonathan Hankey
The accurate evaluation of crash causal factors can provide fundamental information for effective transportation policy, vehicle design, and driver education. Naturalistic driving (ND) data collected with multiple onboard video cameras and sensors provide a unique opportunity to evaluate risk factors during the seconds leading up to a crash. This paper uses a National Academy of Sciences-sponsored ND dataset comprising 905 injurious and property damage crash events, the magnitude of which allows the first direct analysis...
Grasslands in the border area of Carpathian and Pannonian regions: an example from Muránska planina Mts (Central Slovakia)Judita Kochjarová, Iveta Škodová & Drahoš Blanár
Muránska planina Mts, a small karstic area situated in the southern part of the Western Carpathians in Central Slovakia was chosen as a model region for the study of the variability and diversity patterns of thermophilous and mountain non-forest vegetation on the crossing of the Carpathian and Pannonian bioregions. Altogether, 113 new relevés were sampled using standard methods of the Zürich-Montpellier approach and compared with previously published data. The dataset containing both new and published...

Bisallylation of Zirconacyclopentenes and Ring-Closing Metathesis: A Route to Eight-Membered-Ring CompoundsNikola Topolovčan, Illia Panov & Martin Kotora
The cyclization of various enynes with the Negishi reagent provides the corresponding bicyclic zirconacyclopentenes, which after exposure to allyl chloride in the presence of a catalytic amount of copper(I) chloride, undergo bisallylation to furnish 1,9-decadienes in good yields (42–89%). The dienes are subjected to ring-closing metathesis to afford bicyclic compounds with [6.3.0]bicycloundecane (8,5-fused ring system) or [6.4.0]bicyclododecane (8,6-fused ring system) frameworks in good to excellent yields (52–92%). Selective monoallylation of a selected zirconacyclopentene followed by...
Improving newborn survival in Southern Tanzania endline impact survey 2013: Mtwara and Lindi regionsJoanna Schellenberg
The Improving Newborn Survival in Southern Tanzania (INSIST) endline survey aimed to assess newborn survival and newborn care practices in Southern Tanzania (Lindi Rural, Ruangwa, Nachingwea, Newale, Tandahimba and Mtwara Rural). The survey included 190,000 households, around 140,000 women in reproductive age, and around 50,000 livebirths. Uptake of antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care as well as newborn care practices were assessed in 15,000 livebirths. 300 maternal deaths were recorded.
The Oto-Manguean Inflectional Class Database contains over 13,000 verbal entries from twenty Oto-Manguean languages, along with information pertaining to each verb's inflectional class membership. This section of the database comprises verbs from San Pedro Amuzgos Amuzgo, a language belonging to the Amuzgo-Mixtecan branch of Oto-Manguean, spoken in the state of Oaxaca. The database was created for the project ‘Endangered Complexity: Inflectional classes in Oto-Manguean languages’, jointly funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and...
Our mission is to promote sharing and reuse of video data. Most developmental scientists rely on video recordings to capture the complexity and richness of behavior. However, researchers rarely share video data, and this has impeded scientific progress. Enabling reuse of video data is essential to increasing openness, maximizing the efficiency of limited resources, and accelerating the pace of discovery in the developmental and learning sciences. We aim to provide tools that encourage good data...
