Research data supporting \"In situ Reaction Monitoring in Heterogeneous Catalysts by a Benchtop NMR Spectrometer\"

H Leutzsch, Andrew Sederman, Lynn Gladden & Michael D Mantle
Understanding the reactivity and mass transport properties of porous heterogenous catalysts is important for the development of new materials. Whereas MRI has previously been used to correlate chemical kinetics and hydrodynamics under operando conditions, this paper demonstrates that a modern benchtop NMR spectrometer is a suitable alternative to obtain diverse reaction information in porous heterogeneous catalyst materials on a smaller scale. Besides information about the chemical conversion within the pores, they can also be used...

An Intimate Insight on Psychopathy and a Novel Hermeneutic Psychological Science.pdf

Emmanuel Taku
Besides and together with a study of the social sciences and philosophy, this author’s intuitive confidence in this hermeneutic design insights that underlies the arguments and discourse, is inspired from ‘an intimate and spontaneous idiosyncratic philosophical exercise (praxis) in the quest for the essence of meaning’, a ‘craft’ that has been nurtured continuously for nearly 25 years now (without conscious planning at the beginning nor at any time thereafter) since his discovery of ‘philosophical questioning...

P versus NP

Frank Vega
P versus NP is considered as one of the most important open problems in computer science. This consists in knowing the answer of the following question: Is P equal to NP? This question was first mentioned in a letter written by John Nash to the National Security Agency in 1955. A precise statement of the P versus NP problem was introduced independently in 1971 by Stephen Cook and Leonid Levin. Since that date, all efforts...

Research data supporting \"High-efficiency perovskite-polymer bulk heterostructure light-emitting diodes\"

Datasets for figures in "High-efficiency perovskite–polymer bulk heterostructure light-emitting diodes" at https://doi.org/10.1038/s41566-018-0283-4 - Abstract: Perovskite-based optoelectronic devices are gaining much attention owing to their remarkable performance and low processing cost, particularly for solar cells. However, for perovskite light-emitting diodes, non-radiative charge recombination has limited the electroluminescence efficiency. Here we demonstrate perovskite–polymer bulk heterostructure light-emitting diodes exhibiting external quantum efficiencies of up to 20.1% (at current densities of 0.1–1 mA cm−2). The light-emitting diode emissive layer...

Research data supporting \"A re-examination of responding on ratio and regulated-probability interval schedules\"

Omar Perez, Michael Aitken, Amy Milton & Anthony Dickinson
The files contain the raw behavioural data reported in the paper. Following pretraining on food collection from the magazine and lever pressing on fixed ratio schedules, rats were divided into three groups. Master rats were trained on a random ratio (RR)-20 schedule, while another group was yoked to the responding of individual master rats on a regulated probability interval (RPI) schedule. A third group of rats was first trained using an RR1-10 schedule, followed by...

Why Plasmodium falciparum does not survive outside its host and life-threatening malaria tropica disease especially occurs in blood group A individuals - (How O-GalNAc glycosylation drives evolution)

Peter Arend
The protozoan eukaryotic parasite Plasmodium falciparum, pathogen of malaria tropica, does not survive outside its metazoan host assumingly due to an evolutionary incomplete protein glycosylation, lacking the synthesis of the amino sugar N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) and glucosamine (Glc)-GalNAc epimerizations. Breaking the species barrier, the host's cellular machinery most likely performs trans-species O-GalNAc glycosylations, which in the human occur predominantly in blood group A individuals and are performed on abundantly expressed serine residues, arising throughout the parasite's...

Why Plasmodium falciparum does not survive outside its host, and life-threatening disease occurs especially in blood group A individuals. (How O-GalNAc glycosylation drives the evolution)

Peter Arend
The protozoan eukaryotic parasite Plasmodium falciparum, pathogen of malaria tropica, does not survive outside its metazoan host likely due to an evolutionary incomplete protein glycosylation, lacking the synthesis of the amino sugar N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) and glucosamine (Glc)-GalNAc epimerizations, which dominate the metazoan glycophysiology. After entry of the parasite into the metazoan host, the parasite's serine residues, arising throughout its life-cycle, assumingly get exposed to glycotransferase activities in plasma and on the surfaces of mononuclear cells....

A red fluorescent BODIPY probe for iridium (III) ion and its application in living cells

Xingyu Qu, Yongjun Bian, Jianqing Li & Yufeng Pan
A new red fluorescent probe 1 based on BODIPY skeleton has been successfully synthesized through introduction of 2-(thiophen-2-yl)quinoline motiety at meso- and 3- position, which exhibits excellent optical performance with high fluorescence quantum yield and large pseudo stokes’ shift. The probe 1 shows high selectivity and sensitivity towards iridium (III) ion in aqueous solution and in living cells.

Corylus avellana chorology

Giovanni Caudullo, Erik Welk & Jesus San-Miguel-Ayanz
Distribution map of common hazel (Corylus avellana)

These maps were produced by combining numerous and heterogeneous data collected from atlas monographs providing complete species distribution maps, from national to regional atlases, occurrence geodatabases and scientific literature.
The maps were created using ESRI shapefiles (*.shp, *.shx, *.dbf, *.prj files) archived in the ZIP file. Species range is mapped with polygon features (name suffix “plg”), which define continuous areas of occupancy of the species, and with point features (name...
