A “Y” Incision/Rectangular Patch to Enlarge the Aortic Annulus by 4 Valve Sizes in TAV and BAV Patients
Aroma Naeem & Bo Yang
We previously described using a “Y” incision and rectangular patch to enlarge the aortic annulus by 2-3 valve sizes for aortic valve replacement (AVR) with bioprosthesis (1) or mechanical valve (2) in patients with trileaflet aortic valve (TAV). As we are becoming more experienced, we are able to enlarge the aortic annulus by 4 valve sizes routinely in either TAV or bicuspid aortic valve (BAV). In this video we used a case of TAV to...

Animation of the quasi-CVT optimization process for an example Voronoi-Fresnel phase with 23 cells. The distance between the Voronoi-Fresnel phase and image sensor is set at 2 mm. The sensor pixels are 240 x 160, with a pixel pitch of 3.45 microns. The phase resolution is 1.15 microns, making a manufacturable 3x unsampling ratio compared with sensor resolution. To fully characterize the optimization, the process is run for 100 iterations, although the optimal result occurs...
Chest pain with ST-elevation in leads AVR, III, AVF, V1, V3R, V4R and V5R
Yuehai Wang, Yuqiang Zhang, Yan Wang, Changpeng Zhai, Jie Gao, Guangyong Huang & Shengjun Ma
We mistakenly diagnosed a patient with pulmonary embolism as ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction. The case complained of chest pain with ST-elevation in leads AVR, III, AVF, V1, V3R, V4R and V5R. In addition, we also found ST- elevation AVR, III>ST- elevation AVF, QIII>QAVF and QV1. Multi-site pulmonary embolism can lead to type 2 myocardial infarction or special type of myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries through multiple pathological mechanisms.

Association between vitiligo and sexual dysfunction: current evidence
Xin Liang, Fei Guo, Xiaoce Cai, Jiao Wang, Jiale Chen, Li Liu, Yan Chen, Fang Liu, Yuhua Du, Lei Li & Xin Li
We discovered that vitiligo was associated with sexual dysfunction in clinical diagnosis and treatment; however, no further analysis had been performed due to a lack of data. This study aimed to clarify the relationship between vitiligo and sexual dysfunction. We searched six databases (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science and Technology Journal, and Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform) for nearly 40 years. According to the search strategy, 91 relevant studies were retrieved,...

Integrated analysis reveals important differences in the gut and oropharyngeal microbiota between children with mild and severe hand, foot, and mouth disease
Nan Zhang, Danlei Mou, Tongzeng Li, Zhiyun Chen, Chunhua Ma, Lianchun Liang & Qiushui He
Little is known about alternation and difference in gut microbiota between patients with mild and severe hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD). We investigated the differences in gut and oropharynx microbiota between mild and severe HFMD in young children and changes in bacterial profiles as the disease progresses from acute to convalescent phase. Forty-two patients with confirmed HFMD were studied, among which 32 had severe HFMD and 10 had mild HFMD. First rectal swabs were...
