Applying behavioural science to promoting uptake of family hubs services - Wakefield project

Elaine Clark & Abigail Millings
The Wakefield project focused on evaluating a new communications strategy to advertise both ‘Team Around the School’ (TAS) support and family hub services. The communications strategy was designed by Wakefield Council and already in the process of being implemented at the beginning of the project. The strategy was designed for implementation by schools, who were supported in phased release of specific information and the provision of content to embed in school websites. Qualitative interviews were...

Data from: The interaction of fatigue cracks with a residual stress field using thermoelastic stress analysis and synchrotron x-ray diffraction experiments

Khurram Amjad, David Asquith, Eann A. Patterson, Christopher M. Sebastian & Wei-Chung Wang
This article presents an experimental study on the fatigue behaviour of cracks emanating from cold-expanded holes utilising thermoelastic stress analysis (TSA) and synchrotron x-ray diffraction (SXRD) techniques with the aim of resolving the long-standing ambiguity in the literature regarding potential relaxation, or modification, of beneficial compressive residual stresses as a result of fatigue crack propagation. The crack growth rates are found to be substantially lower as the crack tip moved through the residual stress zone...

Studies in low energy nuclear physics at HIGS 16O

Robin Smith, M Gai & M W Ahmed
The data were collected by an optical time projection chamber (detailed in: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-0221/5/12/P12004). Calibration data are included, where a radioactive alpha-particle emitter was placed inside the chamber. The remainder of the data were collected with beam from the HIGS facility entering the detector to induce nuclear reactions. Typical data files with gamma-beam were acquired over hour-long periods. During the experiment, the raw digitised data were converted into root format for ease of data analysis. Raw...
