FTIR Analysis of Artificially Aged Microfiltration Membranes

Shane Cox
This collection contains information regarding the analysis of a range of microfiltration membranes and the influence of various chemicals on their surface chemistry. The dataset contains membranes that are made from PVDF, PP, PES in both flatsheet and hollow fibre configurations. These membranes have been exposed to sodium hypochlorite, sodium dodecyl sulphate, hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. (note: not all membranes have been exposed to all chemicals). The FTIR analysis was conducted on a Bruker...

DFT calculated Infrared Spectra of Organoarsenics

Danmar Gloria
Project description: An Infrared spectroscopic study of twelve relevant organo-arsenic compounds. We have considered the prediction of the normal mode vibrational frequencies and assignments based on calculations done at the HF, DFT/B3LYP levels of theory for 12 organo-arsenic compounds using 6-311++G(3df,3pd) basis set. The results from this high level of calculation, though not necessary, were corrected using established scale factors.

UVic modelling outputs: Version 2

Katrin Meissner, Laurie Menviel & Karin Kvale
This is an updated version of the dataset record (UVic modelling outputs for LGM) with corresponding DOI: https://doi.org/10.26190/5f2b69ff95d8f . The dataset listed here is the output of numerical simulations performed with the UVic earth system climate model of intermediate complexity. It enlists multiple variables of the atmosphere ocean and marine biogeochemistry. The data is obtained by forcing the model under two climate boundary conditions, preindustrial (~1800) and the Last Glacial Maximum (~20ka), and corresponds to...

Oxidative Degradation of Polyamide Reverse Osmosis Membranes

Alice Antony
The collection was obtained from a range of experiments investigating the influence of free chlorine on polyamide reverse osmosis membranes under accelerated ageing conditions. Sodium Hypochlorite was used as a source of free chlorine and ATR-FTIR has been used to characterize the changes in membrane surface chemistry

The biological effects of micro- and nanoparticles in sunscreens products on human skin

Amanda Hayes
The histopathological responses of human skin were studied in vitro following topical application of sunscreen products containing selected micro- and nanoparticles particles. Adult human skin (Caucasian, age 35-55) donated following elective radical abdominoplasty was used. A Franz cell diffusion apparatus (PermeGear Inc; Hellertown, PA, USA) was used to assess histopathological and morphological changes to the human skin.

UV Vis characterisation of Fimbrolide Analogues

Danmar Gloria
Several analogues of Fimbrolide were characterised using UV-Vis spectroscopy. The UVVis spectra were acquired using Perkin Elmer Lambda Spectrometer. The samples were dissolved in methanol. Measurement parameters are contained within the data.
