Pilot Project Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN), Namibia: Establishment of a baseline for land degradation in the region of Otjozondjupa

Ravic Nijbroek, John Mutua, Mats Söderström, Kristin Piikki, Bas Kempen & Simeon Hengari
Soil and vegetation data collected to develop LDN baselines in Otjozondjupa region of Namibia. The baselines include: land cover change, land productivity, soil organic carbon, and bush encroachment.

Replication Data for: Phytoplasma infection of a tropical root crop triggers bottom-up cascades by favoring generalist over specialist herbivores

Kris A. Wyckhuys
We tested the hypothesis that a Candidatus Phytoplasma causing cassava witches’ broom (CWB) on cassava (Manihot esculenta Grantz) is altering species composition of invasive herbivores and their associated parasitic hymenopterans. We conducted observational studies in cassava fields in eastern Cambodia to assess the effect of CWB infection on abundance of specialist and generalist mealybugs (Homoptera: Pseudococcidae), and associated primary and hyper-parasitoid species. Fields were selected as follows: Chetborey, Changchrong (12.58275°, 106.07681°), Chetborey, Sambuk (12.64369°, 106.06290°),...

Replication Data for: Shoot and Root Traits Contribute to Drought Resistance in Recombinant Inbred Lines of MD 23-24 x SEA 5 of Common Bean

José Polanía, Idupulapati M Rao, Cesar Cajiao, Miguel Grajales, Mariela Rivera, Federico Velasquez, Bodo Raatz & Stephen Beebe
Traits related with drought resistance in recombinant inbred lines (RILs). A set of 121 bean genotypes (111 RILs, 2 parents, 8 checks) belonging to the Mesoamerican gene pool were evaluated under field conditions with two levels of water supply (irrigated and rainfed) over three seasons. To complement field studies, a greenhouse study was conducted using plastic cylinders with soil inserted into PVC pipes, to determine the relationship between grain yield obtained under field conditions with...

The Pan Africa Bean Research Alliance is a network of national agricultural research centers (NARS), and private and public sector institutions that work to deliver better beans with consumer and market preferred traits to farmers. The datasets presented here draw from 17 Sub Saharan countries that are members of PABRA. The dataset on released bean varieties is a collection of 513 bean varieties released by NARS and there characteristics. The dataset on bean varieties and...
