This article focuses on the concept of "critical poem", as analyzed by Octavio Paz, in relation to his readings of Mallarmé, in ‘Signs in Rotation’, to examine four books of Contemporary Mexican poets that establish an indirect dialogue with writing awareness, so akin to the Mexican Nobel: Cantáridas, by Elsa Cross; Negro marfil, by Myriam Moscona; Basalto, by Rocío Cerón; and Wide Screen, by Víctor Cabrera.
