Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model

The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model is a numerical weather prediction system designed for both atmospheric research and operational forecasting purposes. It features two dynamical cores, a data assimilation system, and a software architecture facilitating massively parallel computation and system extensibility. The model serves a wide range of meteorological applications across scales from tens of meters to thousands of kilometers. It has an extensive worldwide user community and is supported by the National Center...

Caspase Domain of Separase from C. elegans

Separases are large proteins that mediate sister chromatid disjunction in all eukaryotes. They belong to clan CD of cysteine peptidases and contain a well-conserved C-terminal catalytic protease domain similar to caspases and gingipains. However, unlike other well-characterized groups of clan CD peptidases, there are no high-resolution structures of separases and the details of their regulation and substrate recognition are poorly understood. Here we undertook an in-depth bioinformatical analysis of separases from different species with respect...

Human and mouse Potassium Channels

The Human Brain Project aims at better understanding the function of the mouse and human brains. Potassium channels are central to the function of the brain as they play a crucial role in the generation and control of action potentials. In this framework we have created homology models of the human and mouse potassium channels which provide a structural framework for the study of their function. These models allow us to study the interplay between...

PRC Models Based on Limited Data

Jennifer Nichols, Wendy Murray & Michael Bednar
Kinematic models of proximal row carpectomy (PRC) developed in SIMM v. 6.0.2. These models are based on several assumptions and limited experimental data.

Staphylococcus aureus Capsular Polysaccharide D

A three-step purification of a unique lipase with halo-, solvent-, detergent- and themo-tolerance from Staphylococcus arlettae JPBW-1gave rise a 27-fold purification with a specific activity of 32.5 U/mg. The molecular weight of the purified lipase was estimated to be 45 kDa using SDS–PAGE, whose amino acid sequence was characterized using MALDI-TOF-MS analysis. The sequence obtained from MALDI-TOF-MS showed significant similarity with the capsular polysaccharide biosynthesis protein (CapD) of Staphylococcus auerus. Using biochemical and bioinformatics methods...

MODFLOW and MODFLOW Conduit Flow Process simulation experiments of the Woodville Karst Plain, near Tallahassee, Florida with three different approaches and different stress periods

Eve Kuniansky
This Data Release has 18 different groundwater flow simulation applications for the Woodville Karst Plain area near Tallahassee Florida with three variations of distributed parameter model approach. The site model files provided include both calibrated and uncalibrated simulations of various steady-state and transient hydrologic conditions. Simulations were accomplished with equivalent porous media models that allow laminar flow only (MODFLOW) or laminar and non-laminar flow in a model layer (MODFLOW-CFP mode 2) and hybrid model simulations...
