Ni Ma, Yining Zhao, Yunchuan Wang, Le Yang, Dongni Li, Jiangliu Yang, Kexin Jiang, Ke-Qin Zhang & Jinkui Yang
Regulators of G protein signaling (RGSs) are proteins that negatively regulate G protein signal transduction. In this study, seven putative RGSs were characterized in the nematode-trapping (NT) fungus, Arthrobotrys oligospora. Deleting Rgs genes significantly increased intracellular cAMP levels, and caused defects in mycelia growth, stress resistance, conidiation, trap formation, and nematocidal activity. In particular, the ΔAoFlbA mutant was unable to produce conidia and traps. Transcriptomic analysis showed that amino acid metabolic and biosynthetic processes were...

Dong Wei, Yingying Chen, Xiaoqi Yu, Yang-dian Lai, Wenxin Xu, Ping Ji, Zhitao Yang, Erzhen Chen, Xinxin Zhang & Ying Wang
BBIBP-CorV exerts efficient protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection. However, waning vaccine-induced humoral immune responses after two-dose vaccination has significantly undermined durable immuno-protection. In this study, we have demonstrated that although anti-spike (S) antibody responses in BBIBP-CorV vaccinees exhibited three serotypes after 6 months including de novo sero-negative, sero-positive and sero-decay features, S-specific interferon-γ release as well as Th1 cytokine production in CD4+ and CD8+ T cells were comparable, especially in vaccinees without detectable neutralizing antibodies. Notably,...

Lianqi Liu, Fei Xie, Dian Xiao, Xin Xu, Zheng Su, Yanming Wang, Shiyong Fan, Xinbo Zhou & Song Li
Camptothecins, traditional chemotherapy drugs, have been clinically used in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), which refreshes the recognition that ADCs preferably incorporate highly potent payloads. However, SN-38, active metabolite of irinotecan from camptothecins, tended to be incorporated into ADCs with an unstable acid sensitive bond, not with the widely used Cathepsin B (CTSB) sensitive bond, which may pose the risk of off-target. Herein, we reported a novel strategy to construct highly releasable and structurally stable SN-38-conjugates, in...

Arsenic trioxide (As2O3, ATO) has limited therapeutic benefit to treat solid tumors, whether used alone or in combination. Nanoscale drug delivery vehicles have great potential to overcome the limitation of the utility of ATO by rapid renal clearance and dose-limiting toxicity. Polymeric materials ranging from gelatin foam to synthetic polymers such as poly(vinyl alcohol) were developed for vascular embolic or chemoembolic applications. Recently, we have introduced sevelamer, an oral phosphate binder, as a new polymeric...
