Chemical constituents from the seeds of Cullen corylifolium and their inhibitory activity on diacylglycerol acyltransferase
Shi-Zhou Qi, Ban-Ban Li, Meng-Shan Liu, Zhen Zhang, Shuang Miao & Kai-Kai Gong
A large number of extracts of medicinal plants or natural products shows beneficial to combat obesity. In the present work, a new flavonoid named (2S,1″R,2″R)-4′-hydroxy-7-methoxy-6-(1,2,3-trihydroxy-3-methyl-butyl)-flavanone (1), along with seven known compounds (2–8) were isolated from the seeds of Cullen corylifolium. Their structures, including the absolute configurations, were determined by the analysis of comprehensive spectroscopic data and computational calculation methods. All isolates were evaluated for their diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT) inhibitory activity. Compounds 1–4 exhibited different level...
Development of a HPLC-UV Method for the Separation and Quantification of Hesperidin, Neohesperidin, Neohesperidin Dihydrochalcone and Hesperetin
Lin Chen, Siming Zhu, Chunqing Wang & Liang Chen
An analysis method was developed for the separation and quantification of hesperidin, neohesperidin, neohesperidin dihydrochalcone and hesperetin by using HPLC-UV. Single factor experiments and Box-Behnken Designs were used to optimize separation of four flavonoids, in which a gradient elution method was adopted with 99% acetonitrile and 0.1% formic acid as mobile phases at a flow rate of 0.9 mL/min. A C18 column was used with a column temperature of 35 °C. LODs and LOQs were...
Novel Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLIA) for the Sensitive Determination of Kidney Injury Molecule-1 in Human Urine
Lanya Li, Zhiqiang Yang, Jiayuan Lin, Zhitian Chen, Bo Zhang & Xiaoling Fu
Kidney injury molecule 1 (KIM-1) is markedly upregulated in the proximal tubule after injury and is maladaptive when chronically expressed. A practical sensitive chemiluminescence immunoassay combined with magnetic bead separation for the determination of KIM-1 in human urine has been developed. Based on a sandwich-type immunoassay, the analyte is captured by the monoclonal antibodies (mAb) coated in magnetic beads and those labeled with the alkaline phosphatase. The changes of KIM-1 concentration levels were monitored by...

Realizing recrystallization-stabilization temperature range inversion in high Mg content Al alloys via pulsed electric current
Zhen Zhang, Di Zhang, Hao Gong, Xinfang Zhang & Jishan Zhang
A longstanding challenge with high Mg content Al alloys is the trade-off between corrosion resistance and strength, because the stabilization temperature is lower than the recrystallization temperature corresponding to a no stabilization temperature range. Herein, a stabilization temperature range is found with an excellent match of strength and corrosion resistance of high Mg content Al alloy via pulsed electric current. The stimulated atomic diffusion rate resulted in discontinuous grain boundary precipitates, along with a lower...

Maintenance mechanisms of child restraint system use based on the health action process approach theory: Evidence from China
Kangkang Zhang, Li Liu, Ting Zhang, Chi Zhang, Xinpeng Xu, Qifeng Wu & Hua You
Adherence to the use of child restraint system (CRS) can greatly reduce child casualties in road traffic accidents. This study aims to develop the behavior maintenance model of CRS use based on the health action process approach (HAPA) theory to explore the maintenance mechanisms, suggesting appropriate intervention strategies. Adopting the multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method, a cross-sectional survey for guardians recruited from kindergarten and primary school was conducted using the questionnaire developed based on...
Observation on the effect of platelet-rich plasma combined with drugs in the treatment of herpes zoster neuralgia
Zenghua Zhou, Xin Hu, Fangran Yan, Yanhua Zhou, Ruilin He, Xiaolong Ye & Zongbin Jiang
To observe the effect of ultrasound-guided platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection in the treatment of herpes zoster neuralgia (HZN). Eighty patients with HZN were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 40 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with ultrasound-guided PRP injection of target nerves combined with drugs. The control group was treated with drugs alone. The pain scores of before treatment (T0), and 1 week (T1), 1 month (T2), 3...

This report describes fossils recovered from Ganxian Cave in 2008 and 2018 by the Natural History Museum and Anthropology Museum of Guangxi. The cave sedimentary fill yielded rich mammalian fossils consisting mainly of isolated teeth of medium- to large-sized mammals (Primates, Proboscidea, Perissodactyla, Carnivora, Rodentia, Artiodactyla) of typical ‘Ailuropoda-Stegodon’ fauna, (e.g. Stegodon orientalis, Ailuropoda baconi, Pongo weidenreichi, Tapirus sinensis, Megatapirus augustus, Crocuta ultima), and more numerous extant species belonging to 28 taxa in total. The...
