Friedel-Crafts alkylation oxidative cyclization catalyzed by co-oxidation of SeO2 and FeCl3: a simple synthesis of benzo[b]furan from acetophenone and anisole
Yuyan Xu, Jie Sun, Zhiwei Ke, Ziwei Li, Wei Tang, Yicheng Xu & Zhiwei Chen
A simple one-pot method was developed to complete the α-diphenyl substitution and cyclization of acetophenone using acetophenone and substituted benzene as substrates, and a series of benzofuran derivatives was synthesized efficiently. It had the advantages of medium to excellent yield and easily obtained substrate. Compared with other methods, the method avoids the use of precious metals and cumbersome operations.
Indole alkaloids from the bark of Acacia confusa and their potential antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities
Yang Wang, Shuang-Gang Ma, Li Li & Shi-Shan Yu
A pair of novel trimeric indole alkaloid enantiomers [(±)-8], five new bisindole alkaloids [4–7 and (±)-9], and three pairs of new monomeric indole alkaloid enantiomers [(±)-1–(±)-3], together with seven known alkaloids (10–16), were isolated from the bark of Acacia confusa. Their structures were determined on the basis of spectroscopic methods, especially by NMR data analyses combined with single-crystal X-ray diffraction and electronic circular dichroism analyses. Compounds 4 and 11–16 exhibited significant antinociceptive activities in an...

Supply-side drivers of phosphorus emissions from phosphorus supply chains in China
Jing Zhang, Qiumeng Zhong, Yadong Yu, Jetashree, Xuechun Yang, Cuiyang Feng, Hui Li & Sai Liang
Human activities interfere with natural Phosphorus (P) cycles by introducing increased levels of P emissions to air, land, and water. A supply-side analysis of P supply chains and associated P emissions can provide insights into underlying economic activities and transitions responsible for human-induced P emissions. Taking the mainland China as the case, this study constructs time-series physical input-output tables to describe P supply chains during 1949–2012. Subsequently, it identifies critical products and influencing factors of...
Magnetically recyclable Cu-BTC@Fe3O4-catalyzed chlorosulfonylation of vinylarenes
Xin Zhang, Liang Wang & Qiaoyong Zhu
A chlorosulfonylation of vinylarenes using magnetic metal–organic framework (MOF) composite Cu-BTC@Fe3O4 (BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate) as the catalyst has been developed. This protocol features easily accessible starting materials, good functional group compatibility and simple recovery of the catalyst. The recovered catalyst could be reused for at least successive five runs with only a slight decrease in its catalytic activity.
Apelin levels in pregnant women with and without gestational diabetes mellitus: a collaborative systematic review and meta-analysis
Faustino R. Pérez-López, Jiang-Nan Wu, Li Yao, María T. López-Baena, Gonzalo R. Pérez-Roncero & Seshadri Reddy Varikasuvu
Aims: This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated maternal apelin levels in pregnant women with and without GDM. Secondary outcomes were glucose- and lipid-related results. Methods: Databases including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, LILACS, CNKI, and Wang Fang were searched. The methodological quality of included studies was evaluated with the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Mean differences (MDs) or standardized MDs (SMDs) with their 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were evaluated. Random effect model analyses were carried out and heterogeneity with the...
