Combination of chemotherapy and immune checkpoint therapy by the immunoconjugates-based nanocomplexes synergistically improves therapeutic efficacy in SCLC
Zhang Tao, Xingwang Kuai, Guangwei Wang, Sanfeng Liu, Kai Liu, Heng Zhang, Shujing Xia & Hua Zhu
Although the etoposide and carboplatin (EP) combination strategy has been the first-line chemotherapy, patients with extensive-stage disease small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) still have poor survival outcomes. Our retrospective analysis revealed that 46 patients with SCLC only achieved medium overall survival (OS) of 11.6 months after treated by EP. Recently, it was demonstrated that combination therapy of PD1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint blocker and EP could significantly improve the OS of SCLC patients. However, the serious treatment-related toxicity...

COVID-19 vaccination delivery in long-term-care using the CARD (Comfort Ask Relax Distract) system: Mixed methods study of implementation drivers
Anna Taddio, Katherine S. McGilton, Nancy Zheng, Lydia Yeung, Benoit Lafleur, Jollee S.T. Fung, Noni E. MacDonald, Melissa K. Andrew & Chris P. Verschoor
CARD (comfort, ask, relax, distract) is a vaccine delivery framework that includes interventions to improve the patient’s experience. CARD has not been previously implemented in long-term care (LTC) settings. This study evaluated drivers to implementation for COVID-19 vaccinations in an LTC facility. Postimplementation interpretive evaluation including qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys with eight participants. The Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) was used for analysis. Adverse reactions to vaccinations and CARD interventions, including local reactogenicity...

Variation in rhizosphere microbial communities and its association with the nodulation ability of peanut
Guilong Li, Pengfa Li, Meng Wu, Kai Liu, Petropoulos Evangelos, Jia Liu, Ming Liu & Zhongpei Li
Harnessing the rhizobia-legume symbiosis is a promising strategy to confront sustainability in agriculture. Agricultural research on legume nodulation has mostly focused on abiotic parameters, yet the importance of biotic variables on legumes nodulation is still ambiguous. We explored the variation of bacterial communities in peanut rhizosphere soil under different agricultural practices (peanut fallow rotation and Vicia villosa Roth-peanut rotation) using Illumina sequencing. Samples were collected in 2020 from a 9-year study (2012–2020) located at Dongxiang...

LGBTQ+ Health Research Guides: A Cross-institutional Pilot Study of Usage Patterns
Gregg A. Stevens, Francisco Fajardo, Martin Morris, Jessica Berry, Robin M. N. Parker & Katie Mclean
Objectives: Multiple authors have recommended that health sciences libraries use research guides to promote LGBTQ+ health information, connect with their users and the community, and improve health equity. However, little is known about LGBTQ+ health guide usage patterns and whether such guides really meet the information needs of their users. Based on usage patterns from LGBTQ+ health research guides, we assessed the types of LGBTQ+ health information of greatest interest to health sciences library users...
