Interventions to support contraceptive choice and use: a global systematic map of systematic reviews

Preethy D’Souza, Tenzin Phagdol, Sonia R. B. D’Souza, D. S. Anupama, Baby S. Nayak, Binil Velayudhan, Julia V. Bailey, Judith Stephenson & Sandy Oliver
To review the highest level of available evidence, a systematic map identified systematic reviews that evaluated the effectiveness of interventions to improve contraception choice and increase contraception use. Systematic reviews published since 2000 were identified from searches of nine databases. Data were extracted using a coding tool developed for this systematic map. Methodological quality of included reviews was assessed using AMSTAR 2 criteria. Fifty systematic reviews reported evaluations of interventions for contraception choice and use...

Objective: To identify research priorities of consumers and other stakeholders to inform Cochrane Reviews in 'health communication and participation' (including such concepts as patient experience, shared decision-making and health literacy). Setting International. Participants: We included anyone with an interest in health communication and participation. Up to 151 participants (18-80 years; 117 female) across 12 countries took part, including 48 consumers (patients, carers, consumer representatives) and 75 professionals (health professionals, policymakers, researchers) (plus 25 people who...

Archaean greenstone belts of the Singhbhum Craton, India–windows into early Earth

Jaganmoy Jodder & Axel Hofmann
Archaean greenstone belts offer the opportunity to study the dynamic conditions on early Earth. The Singhbhum Craton of India hosts several volcano-sedimentary greenstone sequences that preserve Archaean rocks locally exceeding 3.5 Ga. We present a compilation of field, petrographic, geochemical, and geochronological results from the following greenstone sequences: 1) Daitari Greenstone Belt, 2) Gorumahisani Greenstone Belt, and 3) Nausahi Greenstone Belt. Major similarities include the association of mafic-ultramafic sequences, felsic volcanic rocks, and sedimentary units....

Chemical constituents from fruits of Cnestis ferruginea Vahl ex. DC (Connaraceae) and evaluation of their anticholinesterase and antiradical activities

Thérèse Christelle Maleu, Rostan Mangoua Talla, Michael Hermann Kengne Kamdem, Tamfu Alfred Ngenge, Selcuk Kucukaydin, Edwin Mpho Mmutlane, Derek Tantoh Ndinteh, Celine Djama Mbazoa & Jean Wandji
The phytochemical investigation of the DCM/MeOH (1:1) extract of the fruits of Cnestis ferruginea led to the isolation and characterization of one new quinic acid derivative, ferruginoic acid (1), together with six known compounds 2–7. Compounds 3–7 were reported for the first time from this species. The structures of compounds 1–7 were elucidated on the basis of 1 D and 2 D NMR spectroscopic data, mass spectrometry and by comparison of spectroscopic data with those...
