Subjective cognitive complaints and its associations to response inhibition and neural activation in patients with stress-related exhaustion disorder
Andreas Nelson, Hanna Malmberg Gavelin, Micael Andersson, Maria Josefsson, Therese Eskilsson, Lisbeth Slunga Järvholm, Anna Stigsdotter Neely & Carl-Johan Boraxbekk
Stress-related exhaustion is associated with cognitive deficits, measured subjectively using questionnaires targeting everyday slips and failures or more objectively as performance on cognitive tests. Yet, only weak associations between subjective and objective cognitive measures in this group has been presented, theorized to reflect recruitment of compensational resources during cognitive testing. This explorative study investigated how subjectively reported symptoms of cognitive functioning and burnout levels relate to performance as well as neural activation during a response...

Novel, Selective Calix[6]Arene - Polyethylene Glycol (C6A-PEG) Stationary Phase for Capillary Gas Chromatography (GC)
Qiuchen Huang, Zhiqiang Cai, Wei Li, Ruonan Chen, Wei Zhang, Keyun Jin, Yi Zhao, Yiwen Li & Tao Sun
A novel calix[6] arene polymer stationary phase (C6A-PEG) is reported that combines the π-electron-rich cavity of calix[6] arene (C6A) with polyethylene glycol (PEG) units for gas chromatography (GC). Thermogravimetric analysis revealed a 5% weight loss of C6A-PEG at 318 °C, and its static-coated capillary column showed high efficiency of 2924 plates/m (k = 3.48) determined by 1-octanol at 120 °C. As a result, the moderate polar C6A-PEG column showed clearly advantageous performance for the Grob...

This phase III clinical trial aimed to assess the safety and demonstrate the immunogenicity of a candidate freeze-dried purified Vero cell-based rabies vaccine (PVRV-WIBP) developed for human use. A cohort of 40 participants in stage 1 and 1956 subjects in stage 2 with an age range of 10–50 years were recruited for the phase III clinical trial. For safety analysis in stage 1, 20 participants received either 4-dose or 5-dose regimen of PVRV-WIBP. In stage...
Symptoms and oxylipins in plasma before and after exposure to rooms in which individuals have both experienced and not experienced building-related symptoms – an exploratory study
Anna-Sara Claeson, Johan Sommar & Ingrid Liljelind
The aim of this study was to investigate if there are differences in symptom ratings and plasma concentrations of oxylipins as a measure of acute inflammation between individuals with building-related symptoms (BRS) and referents during exposure to rooms where people experienced BRS and rooms where they did not experience BRS. Medically examined individuals with BRS and healthy, age and sex matched referents working in the same building were exposed for 60 min. Ratings of symptoms...
Socioeconomic inequalities in asthma and respiratory symptoms in a high-income country: changes from 1996 to 2016

Objective: Low socioeconomic status based both on educational level and income has been associated with asthma and respiratory symptoms, but changes over time in these associations have rarely been studied. The aim was to study the associations between educational or income inequality and asthma and respiratory symptoms among women and men over a 20-year period in northern Sweden. Methods: The study was performed within the Obstructive Lung disease in Northern Sweden (OLIN) research program. Mailed...
In-vitro digestion models: a critical review for human and fish and a protocol for in-vitro digestion in fish
Ricky Wang, Mahtab Mohammadi, Amir Mahboubi & Mohammad J. Taherzadeh
Digestive systems in human, animals, and fish are biological reactors and membranes to digest food and extract nutrients. Therefore, static and dynamic models of in-vitro digestion systems are developed to study e.g. novel food and feed before in-vivo studies. Such models are well developed for human, but not to the same extent for animals and fish. On the other hand, recent advances in aquaculture nutrition have created several potential fish meal replacements, and the assessment...
